Cackellac Model 1822 Mobile Chicken Shelter

Cackellac model 1822 is our largest mobile chicken shelter – for farms raising pastured poultry in larger level spaces.

Our largest unit is 8½ feet high inside and measures 18’ x 28’ – enough space for 250-300 meat chickens, or up to 250 laying hens.

This model is very versatile. It can be fitted with an insulated cover, roll-up side curtains and End-Closure panels, making it comfortable to use all winter. It also features a removable 8 foot wide section in both the front and back enabling it to be used as a drive-through garage or other storage in winter. A clear cover converts it to a very useful movable greenhouse!

The frame is all aluminum which means it’s still light enough to be pushed by hand on level ground. This reduces bird losses from crushing which would be more common when you have to use a tractor or ATV to move it. Any of the wheels can be unlocked to allow free swiveling which makes it easy to move in any direction.

Built to last for decades. The Cackellac 1822 features strong webbed truss arches for greater structural strength. Its heavy duty wheel mechanisms with pneumatic tires lift the unit easily for the daily moves. The heavy-weight custom fitted tarp cover is made using high quality UV-stabilized Canadian material. Long-lasting polycarbonate panels cover the upper parts of the end walls.

The Cackellac 1822 can be assembled by two people in less than a day. Its modular construction also makes it easy to take apart again if you have to move to a different location.
Basic 1822 shelter includes:
· Heavy 7 oz Canadian made white woven poly cover
· Translucent polycarbonate panels to partly cover the ends
· Wheel mechanisms on all four corners can raise the unit up to 20”
· Quick anchoring system to help secure the shelter on windy days
· 1x1 inch welded wire mesh on the sides
· Nylon straps and ratchets for fastening the cover down securely
